Spencer Patton Launches Speaker Series with Discussion on Parenting and Social Media

Prominent Think Tank Fellow Dr. Christine Rosen Headlines Inaugural Session

BRENTWOOD, TENN. – Spencer Patton is expanding his efforts to provide opportunities to Tennessee businesses and families with a new speaker series, an initiative allowing community members to hear from well-respected thought leaders with expert backgrounds.

A Tennessee native, Patton is the founder of multiple companies in the logistics space, including Patton Logistics, Route Consultant and Hello Truck Lease. In less than 10 years, he built his business from $0 to greater than $100 million.

Patton’s inaugural Signature Required Speaker Series session featured a thoughtful discussion on parenting and social media led by Dr. Christine Rosen, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a public policy think tank in Washington, D.C. The session was held at the Patton Foundation headquarters in Brentwood, Tenn. on February 29, 2024.

Dr. Rosen is a columnist for Commentary magazine and serves as co-host of the “The Commentary Magazine Podcast.” She is also a fellow at the University of Virginia’s Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture and a senior editor in an advisory position at the New Atlantis.

Dr. Rosen has authored numerous books, including “The Extinction of Experience” and “My Fundamentalist Education: A Memoir of a Divine Girlhood,” which was named one of the best nonfiction books of 2005 by the Washington Post. She frequently appears in popular press, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, ABC News, CNN and Fox News.

"Hosting the American Enterprise Institute and having someone of Dr. Rosen’s caliber as our first-ever speaker is an honor," said Patton. "Her insights not only broadened my perspective but also set the bar high for the kind of expertise we want to bring to our community through this series.”

This Signature Required Speaker Series continues a trend of community outreach for Patton. In 2023, he launched the Patton Foundation, a springboard for young entrepreneurs in the state. To date, the foundation has provided thousands of dollars in grants to Tennessee students through Patton Entrepreneurship Grant (PEG) Challenges, a “Shark Tank”-style competition series at schools with individual grant prizes worth up to $5,000.

"We're all about making a positive impact. We want our work to spread knowledge and create opportunities that lift up our community,” said Patton.
