Patton Foundation Brings Prestigious Entrepreneurial Grant Competition to Brentwood Academy

Brentwood Academy Students to Compete for $5,000 Grants in Patton Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Challenge

BRENTWOOD, TENN. – The Patton Foundation is excited to announce the launch of its highly anticipated Patton Foundation Entrepreneurship Challenge (PFEC) at Brentwood Academy. This "Shark Tank"-style competition offers students the opportunity to compete for grants of up to $5,000, fostering entrepreneurial spirit and innovation among Tennessee’s youth.

The event begins with a keynote address by Spencer Patton on September 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Brentwood Academy Theater. Patton, a Tennessee native and successful entrepreneur behind companies such as Patton Logistics, Route Consultant, and Hello Truck Lease, will deliver a speech titled "The Tyranny of How," encouraging young entrepreneurs to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams with confidence. This keynote is open to the Brentwood Academy community and aims to inspire students to think big.

The PFEC Challenge competition will be held on October 30, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., also in the Brentwood Academy Theater. Participants will have 10 minutes to present their business ideas, followed by a five-minute Q&A session with a panel of experienced judges. The top three competitors will be awarded grants: $5,000 for First Place, $2,500 for Second Place, and $1,000 for Third Place.

"Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our communities—they're the ones who create jobs and drive economic growth. The Patton Foundation is dedicated to equipping these young innovators with the tools and resources they need to turn their ideas into thriving businesses that can make a lasting impact," said Patton.

Leading up to the competition, participants will have access to the PFEC video workshop series, which provides practical advice and insights from successful entrepreneurs across Tennessee to help them refine their pitches.

Brentwood Academy students interested in participating must submit their applications by October 3, 2024. For more information on the PFEC Challenge and to apply, visit spencerpatton.com/foundation.

By bringing the PFEC Challenge to Brentwood Academy, the Patton Foundation continues its mission to empower young entrepreneurs across Tennessee, offering them the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed in a competitive business landscape.
